The Sonia Rykiel for h&m launched yesterday in the UAE and across the region. The stores opened an hour early with staff luring people on to the Rykiel Striped carpet with mini eateries & drinks and handing out baskets to fill up with the new collection. A far cry from the Jimmy Choo launch - there was no pushing, shoving or grabbing - in fact it was a shopping pleasure. Customers were also told that if they bought any item of the collection they would receive 30% discount on the Sonia Rykiel lingerie collection which launched in late 2009 and hasn’t proven to be a success. We think the main line will do better as will the Sonia Rykiel for girls line which includes uber-cute miniature versions of the adult collection. Get Shopping Girlies!
